The entitlement includes:

  • Round-trip international air travel;
  • Stipend ranging from US$2,850-3,700 per month (depending on the cost of living in the city where the Scholar will reside) for the duration of the award;
  • Allowances for excess baggage, settling in, books, services and professional travel within the United States,
  • An allowance for up to two dependents;
  • Round-trip international air travel for one dependent if awarded for a full academic year;
  • The opportunity to participate in various programmes and activities available to Fulbright scholars in the US, and to apply for supplementary awards where applicable.
  • A basic health benefit plan covering a maximum of US$50,000 or US$100,000 per sickness or injury, depending on the duration of your award.

Where possible, host institutions are encouraged to provide some cost sharing, such as a salary supplement for the Scholar and/or in-kind support such as housing, meals and travel.
