We are pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Tracy Riley as the new Chair of the Fulbright New Zealand Board, alongside the appointment of our new Deputy Chair, Professor Jennifer Curtin, and the continuation of Patrick Waite as Treasurer.
Tracy is Dean of Postgraduate Research at Massey University and a Professor of Education specialising in gifted and talented education. She brings extensive leadership experience across the tertiary education sector with expertise in doctoral education, scholarships, ethics, and researcher development. Tracy also serves on a number of national and international committees supporting higher education leadership and academic excellence.
Jennifer is a Professor of Politics and Public Policy at The University of Auckland and Patrick is a business advisor with many non-profit organisations.
“I am honoured to have been elected as Chair of the board of Fulbright New Zealand Te Kura Tūmahana,” said Tracy. “I see this role as a fantastic opportunity to support the vision of Senator Fulbright to help others see the world through different eyes. In a time when understanding across cultures and communities is more important than ever, that idea continues to resonate deeply with me. As Chair, I am honoured to support an organisation that brings people together through learning, research and exchange. Fulbright changes lives, but it also strengthens relationships between nations and communities, helping us build a more informed, inclusive and collaborative future together.”
Fulbright New Zealand Executive Director Penelope Borland said the organisation warmly welcomes Tracy into the role.
