Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Programme for US Teachers
Lavie Raven from Chicago will use his 2016 Fulbright US Distinguished Award in Teaching to study the integration of Māori folkloric arts and the hip-hop arts for the purposes of cultural survival and celebration.
Lavie is a Social Studies and Language arts teacher at North Lawndale College, and an adjunct professor for Ethics and Pedagogy in Art Education at the School of the Art Institute.
