Sharyn Davies (above) co-edited the book ‘Sex and Sexualities in Contemporary Indonesia: Sexual Politics, Health, Diversity and Representations’ which won the 2015 Ruth Benedict Prize for Outstanding Edited Volume.
These awards are presented each year at the American Anthropological Association’s annual meeting to acknowledge excellence in a scholarly book written from an anthropological perspective about a lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered topic.
Sharyn is Associate Professor in the School of Social Sciences and Public Policy at AUT University. She was a Fulbright Travel Award recipient in 2014 and visited Yale University, Columbia University and New York University.
