Daren Kamali
Fulbright New Zealand invites you to the Wellington launch of alumnus Daren Kamali’s second book of poetry – Squid Out of Water: The Evolution (Ala Press, Hawai‘i). An Auckland-based poet, author and teacher of Fijian and Wallis & Futuna descent, Daren was awarded the 2012 Fulbright-Creative New Zealand Pacific Writer’s Residency to spend three months writing at the University of Hawai‘i, which resulted in this new collection.
For the Wellington launch of Squid Out of Water: The Evolution, Daren will be joined by fellow Pacific poets Teresia Teaiwa and Ruci Tueli. He will discuss his residency in Hawai‘i, perform poems from the new book and be available to sign copies.
