Fulbright New Zealand invites you to a free public seminar by Kathy Fox, a 2013 Fulbright US Scholar currently based at Victoria University of Wellington. An Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Vermont, Kathy is researching restorative re-entry of criminal offenders to the community.
In this seminar Kathy will compare restorative justice practices for offender re-entry in New Zealand with those in the US, and in particular her home state of Vermont. She will discuss opportunities for greater use of restorative practices in order to make offender re-entry community-based, more effective, and counter to the punitive approach to justice that has dominated the past several decades.
Places are limited so please RSVP to [email protected] or 472 2065 by Wednesday 17 April. Feel free to bring your own “brown bag” lunch.
