Fulbright New Zealand invites you to a free public seminar by alumnus Barrie Gordon from Victoria University of Wellington. Barrie received a 2013 Fulbright New Zealand Scholar Award to research the implementation of the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility pedagogical model in out-of-school programmes for underserved youth in the US, at North Illinois University.
In this seminar, Barrie will discuss his research into Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility, a pedagogical approach that uses the attraction of physical activity and sport as a “hook” to engage youth in programmes that work towards them becoming more personally and socially responsible in all aspects of their lives.
Places are limited so please RSVP to [email protected] or 472 2065 by Wednesday 27 August. Feel free to bring your own “brown bag” lunch.
