Fulbright New Zealand invites you to a free public seminar by 2014 Fulbright US graduate student Sarah McKibben from Birmingham, Alabama. Sarah has been based since February at Victoria University of Wellington, researching the role of social capital in school reform, and in particular how school leaders in New Zealand collaborate in networks to accelerate learning for their students.
In this seminar, Sarah will discuss her research into Learning and Change Networks, a school networking initiative in which 20% of New Zealand’s schools are participating that focusses on improving outcomes for academically struggling students by empowering students, teachers, and families to work together as agents of change.
Places are limited so please RSVP to [email protected] or 472 2065 by Friday 21 November. Feel free to bring your own “brown bag” lunch.
