Pounamu Jade Aikman (Ngāti Maniapoto, Tainui, Ngāi te Rangi, Ngāti Awa) – Fulbright-Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga Scholar

Pounamu Jade Aikman, from Gisborne, Auckland, and Timaru, will research comparative Indigenous experiences of settler colonialism between Aotearoa and the United States. He will be based in the History Department at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Pounamu graduated with a BA (Hons First Class) in Maori Studies in 2012 and an MA in Anthropology from the University of Otago in 2014; a Level 3 Certificate in Automotive Engineering from Otago Polytechnic in 2014; and a PhD in Pacific Studies from the Australian National University in 2019.
